Neste comunicado de imprensa procuramos explicar o conceito do festival Overland-IN nas suas várias componentes, publicando o kit para imprensa.

In this press release we seek to explain the concept of the Overland-IN festival in its various components, by publishing the press kit.

O QUE É O OVERLAND-IN
O Overland-IN é um festival internacional de cinema para celebrar a criatividade artística no mundo Overland e fortalecer os laços de uma comunidade única. A organização é da responsabilidade do Overland Portugal Club e do destino:abaton.

É composto por uma competição de curtas-metragens de cinema de aventura e viagens, anunciada pelo ICA (Instituto de Cinema e Audiovisual), culminando num evento em ambiente Drive-IN numa envolvente natural.
A localização do evento será secreta, sendo acessível por intermédio de um "roadbook", navegando o caminho até ao local do festival. Durante o evento serão anunciados os vencedores da competição em múltiplas categorias e projectada em ecrã gigante de alta definição uma selecção de filmes a
concurso.

A edição inaugural será realizada em Portugal, sendo as seguintes organizadas em vários pontos do mundo, em regiões onde a cultura Overland é forte, como Austrália, África do Sul, Norte de África, EUA, Canadá e Europa.

COMPETIÇÃO DE CINEMA
Sobre a direcção de Inês Jácome, abriu a inscrição de curtas-metragens para a competição de cinema, a decorrer entre 15 de fevereiro e 15 de junho de 2021. Pode concorrer qualquer pessoa, utilizando uma produção de 3 a 15 minutos vocacionada ao tema de viagens de aventura e Overland. Serão aceites filmes em qualquer idioma, sempre legendados em Português.

O Júri é composto por personalidades ligadas ao mundo automóvel, viagens e cinema, incluindo a piloto Elisabete Jacinto e o entertainer Pedro Alves.

Os valores de inscrição para as candidaturas são de 30 euros, com um desconto de 50 % para envios antecipados e para estudantes com um valor simbólico de 10 euros.

Todas as candidaturas podem ser efectuadas na FilmFreeway, uma plataforma digital de gestão de competições e festivais de cinema (https://FilmFreeway.com/overland-in) com alcance global, ou na página oficial do festival em https://overland-in.pt/competicaocinema, onde pode também ser encontrada mais informação sobre a competição.

EVENTO DRIVE-IN
Terminada a competição, os filmes seleccionados compõem o programa do evento presencial da 1.ª edição do Overland-IN, previsto para a primeira quinzena de Setembro de 2021 (sujeito a confirmação).
Este é realizado ao ar livre num formato de drive-in, acessível com a aquisição de ingressos. A cada ingresso é fornecido na véspera um roadbook, correspondente a um de vários pontos de partida, os quais todos convergirão no local do evento. A localização do evento é secreta e não será revelada. Apenas navegando com as indicações fornecidas é possível chegar lá.

A selecção do local resultou de um esforço regional e local recorrendo às Film Commissions – estruturas sem fins lucrativos para apoiar a produção de cinema em regiões de Portugal específicas. É objectivo do Overland-IN envolver as comunidades e estruturas locais, contribuindo para a divulgação e promoção turística, e dinamização económica.

Chegando ao local no dia do evento, a cada participante é atribuído um lugar pré-determinado, fazendo uso de uma solução móvel digital para a bilhética, aquisição e consumo de comida e bebida, activações de marca e “gamificação”, bem como de interacção com o programa da sessão de cinema.

A sessão decorrerá durante o período da noite, utilizando projecção digital de alta definição num ecrã gigante. O som é garantido recorrendo a uma frequência de rádio FM reservada junto da ANACOM, fazendo uso dos auto-rádios no interior das viaturas.

WHAT IS OVERLAND-IN
Overland-IN is an international film festival to celebrate artistic creativity in the Overland world and to strengthen the bonds of a unique community. The organization is the responsibility of the Overland Portugal Club and the destination: abaton.

It consists of a competition of short films of adventure and travel cinema, announced by ICA (Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual), culminating in an event in a Drive-IN environment in a natural environment.

The inaugural edition will be held in Portugal, with the following being organized in various parts of the world, in regions where the Overland culture is strong, such as Australia, South Africa, North Africa, USA, Canada and Europe.

CINEMA COMPETITION
Under the direction of Inês Jácome, she opened the registration of short films for the cinema competition, to take place between February 15 and June 15, 2021. Anyone can compete, using a 3 to 15 minute production dedicated to the theme of adventure travel and overland. Films in any language will be accepted, always subtitled in Portuguese.

The Jury is composed of personalities linked to the automotive, travel and cinema world, including the pilot Elisabete Jacinto and the entertainer Pedro Alves.

Registration fees for applications are 30 euros, with a 50% discount for advance shipments and for students with a symbolic value of 10 euros.

DRIVE-IN EVENT
After the competition is over, the selected films make up the program for the face-to-face event of the 1st edition of Overland-IN, scheduled for the first half of September 2021 (subject to confirmation).
This is done outdoors in a drive-in format, accessible with the purchase of tickets. Each day, a roadbook is provided the day before, corresponding to one of several starting points, all of which will converge at the event site. The location of the event is secret and will not be revealed. Only by navigating with the directions provided is it possible to get there.

The location selection was the result of a regional and local effort using Film Commissions - non-profit structures to support film production in specific regions of Portugal. Overland-IN's objective is to involve local communities and structures, contributing to the promotion and promotion of tourism, and economic dynamism.

Arriving at the venue on the day of the event, each participant is assigned a predetermined seat, making use of a digital mobile solution for ticketing, purchase and consumption of food and drink, brand activations and “gamification”, as well as interaction with the program of the cinema session.

The session will take place during the night, using high definition digital projection on a giant screen. The sound is guaranteed using an FM radio frequency reserved with ANACOM, using the car radios inside the vehicles.
